How it all started
Some years ago I started with sim-flight quite enthusiastic with the (those days) brandnew MS-FS98,
equipped with the also brand new MS-force feedback joystick.
Due to those days "not the best" graphics and the accuracy
of the joystick at its center position (joggling and the important first ±5deg no reaction) I got disappointed.
The only possibility to land an aircraft by turning dials and setting the aircraft on the ILS instead of
performing a visual approach was not my intention. Although it was a good NAV-COM-training for "later".
I started to get a licenced glider pilot, later on additionally licenced on touring motor gliders (glad I knew the VOR-basics already).
After some "near misses" and the experiences out of weather and other organisatoric issues my flight
activities cooled down, finally stopped after 11 years.
A present for a 2h fixed base A320 sim-flight restarted my interest in sim flying again. PC power and graphics
had improved massively over the past 15 years and it seems, that somewhat (semi)-realistic full flight sims might not be
preserved professional flight academies anymore: Flying at home, regardless of weather conditions, logistics and other
organisatoric stuff seems to be close!
So I started to google the www and youtube on 6DoFsims... and got fascinated!
